I called on a Sunday late morning because Roxy could not open her right eye. Roxy never shows pain or discomfort and is always happy so I knew she was really uncomfortable. First a little background information on Roxy...When I got Roxy she was 5 mo. old and her owner was being deployed out of the country the next day. I saw her posted on CL and I always worry about animals posted on CL, especially a Pit mix. I got Roxy that night and took her to the vet the next day. She had sores between her toes and all under her belly. She was bleeding from her ears and her feet. She was the sweetest most loving puppy but a bit cautious. I found out latter she probably has Greyhound or Sight Hound in her which may contribute to her being shy. Anyway South Bay Veterinary Hospital had one appointment left so I took it. We were Dr. Brown's last appointment. Dr. Brown and his vet tech spent an hour and a half with Roxy. They sat on the floor and let her warm up to them. They gave her treats and took their time getting to know her before taking her in back to look at her eye. It turned out she had a circular puncture/scratch on her eye and Dr. Brown only noticed it (odd location) because he was diligent & thorough. Amazing Vet and staff!! XOXO

In 2010 my little 5lb dog was snatched up by a much bigger dog that basically scalped my dog's back. My vet was so sensitive and caring throughout the entire stay and that helped make this horrible and painful situation much easier to bear. A couple of years later she had to give up her practice due to the building needing too many repairs, and now works at a multivet clinic. I wish she had not had to close her business.
